The Nintendo 3DS – Is It Really 3D?
The Nintendo 3DS was released in Europe in March 2011. I am yet to get my hands on one to try it therefore in this post I am more seeking information than giving it. The concept sounds brilliant… 3D gaming without the glasses. But can it really work? And if so, why was I wearing those silly glasses when I watched in Avatar 3D?
I spoke to one of my gaming friends over the weekend. He is a big portable gamer, owning many of the Nintendo series throughout the years. He currently owns the Nintendo DS with an eye on upgrading to the 3DS after being very impressed with what he experienced. In my mind, I gather the the Nintendo 3DS to me more like a hologram sticker which appears 3D and changes as you tilt it. My friend sort of backed this up, saying the Nintendo 3DS goes 3D backwards rather than things jumping out at you while gaming.
I feel this is a big step forward in portable gaming and I am excited about what it holds for the future.
